Hello

We are P a r a d e.

Parade is a residential and commercial interior design studio, based in Ireland, founded by designers Holly Carey and Susan Foley.

At the heart of our work are our personal stories.

We have a shared union of a London/Irish heritage, and a childhood vernacular of colour and ceremony that helps to form Parade’s aesthetic narrative.  Along with a combined background of almost three decades in our respective arts industries which acts as a fine tuner for our designs, colour and creativity has always played an integral role in our lives.

We are here to help you enjoy the journey and discover your aesthetic narrative.

Meet the Team

  • Susan grew up on The Pimlico Road, Belgravia - the London mecca for antiques, fine furniture, art, and interior design. These distinctive childhood surroundings instilled in her a lifelong love of art, heritage, taste, and craftsmanship, strongly influencing her design narrative today.

‘The discipline of Interior design is hugely enhanced by transferable skills’ says Susan. ‘All of my areas of experience have afforded valuable insights and references in my design projects’.

Having studied Marketing, and Art and Art History, she worked in travel, and then fashion retail management. On moving to Southern Ireland, she spent a decade teaching art and art appreciation to children.

Further qualifications in Interior Architecture and Design, Sustainable and Green Building Interiors, and Biophilic Design have culminated in Susan’s distinctive creative vision that intertwines her love of art, colour, and craftsmanship with a fundamental respect for sustainability and wellbeing in design.

  • Growing up in a horse-racing family on the Curragh of Kildare, one of Holly’s earliest memories is of riding her Shetland pony under a washing line full of bold, bright racing silks. The striking juxtaposition of the silks’ colours and graphic forms was formative and left an indelible creative mark. Its influence can be seen in her design work and visual art to date.

Holly swapped mucking-out for a two-decade career in the arts and entertainment industries, working in Ireland, New York, London and across Europe. During that time, she successfully managed seven-figure budgets in various roles and organisations; developed creative projects with significant artists; and managed large teams of multiple skillsets and disciplines. She has an in-depth knowledge of a broad range of art forms and a proven track record of project management.

Her work as a designer now allows Holly to wonderfully marry both her management and creative sides.

Testimonials

The impact Parade’s work had on the stroke survivors can be summarised in a letter of thanks we received from one of our members “I do not have the words to express our gratitude for creating an environment that is comfortable, homely and peaceful for stroke survivors. This is worth more than a million pounds to us so a very big thank you; you have made us feel incredibly special.”

I would highly recommend Parade to anyone who is looking to renovate a commercial or retail space.”

Anita Ryan, Nurse, Vice Chair of CSSC Committee

“Holly and Susan were an absolute pleasure to work with. From initial consultation to completed project, they worked collaboratively with us to come up with a design that was sensitive to our tastes, reflected our family and brought out the best of what the house had to offer; wonderfully imaginative and creative but always with an eye on practicality and detail.

Throughout, Holly and Susan were always available and nothing was too much trouble. I am delighted with the result, proud to open my door and can honestly say Parade have turned our house into a very happy home!”

Eithne Egan, Musician

“Having worked closely with Susan and Holly from Parade for a few years now, redesigning our Boutique both inside and out, I cannot describe with enough praise the high level of professionalism of this company. The main words that come to mind are availability, reliability, attention to details, great personal care, top class ideas and finishing touches.”

Claire Dilworth. Proprietor, Cinderella’s Closet Bridal Boutique

“Holly and Susan were so helpful and imaginative in our home project, they offered alternatives to many aspects of the design, were able to source appropriate finishes and fittings, and adapted the design to suit our needs.

As an architect, I find them invaluable for creating an atmosphere which compliments the design of the house and would highly recommend Parade Design.”

Adam D’Arcy, Architect

“I asked Holly and Susan to create a look for my 'buy to sell' renovation properties. I needed a design that was neutral and would appeal to all but also had character.  They achieved exactly what I was looking for, the properties looked cool and homely, they even added their own art work for effect. I sold both properties after just a couple of viewings, with very high praise from the viewers. I have already booked them for my next project.”
